CINRYZE Dosing and Administration1

CINRYZE for prevention of HAE attacks can be self-administered by the patient or administered by a caregiver or a healthcare provider. Talk with your patient and/or their caregiver to determine what administration option will work best for them.

1,000 IU intravenous
For patients 12 years and older who have not responded adequately to lower doses, the highest dose will be 2000 IU (not to exceed 80 IU/kg). While each dose will contain a 20% increase in C1-INH activity based on the change in reference standard, the new maximum dose (i.e. 2000 IU, corresponding to 2400 U) has been adjusted to not exceed the maximum dose tested in clinical studies (2500 U).

The dose may be adjusted according to individual response, up to 1,000 IU
Dosing regimen Administered every 3 or 4 days
Infusion rate 1 mL/min (10 minutes) 1 mL/min (5 minutes)

Preparation and handling

  • CINRYZE should not be frozen, and it should be stored in its original carton to protect the active ingredient from light
  • Once reconstituted, the solution must be used within 3 hours
  • As supplied, CINRYZE is stable for the period stated on the vial and carton label at 2°C to 25°C (36°F to 77°F); check the expiration date prior to reconstitution

Keep patients on track

As you work with your HAE patients to create individualized treatment plans, you can help support compliance with CINRYZE. Consider the following approach:

  • Set up a treatment schedule to keep patients on track
  • Empower your patients to take charge by following the infusion schedule you provide
  • Remind patients about the benefits of staying compliant. Even if they are experiencing fewer or no attacks, missing a dose of CINRYZE can result in breakthrough attacks
